Red Rocks Park Drive-in movie theater experience

Film on the Rocks Drive-in presented by the Denver Film Festival

By Aaron Storms

A couple of our friends, Richard and Amy, invited us on a double-date to the Field of Dreams movie, so we went early and were able to get front row parking, had time to catch up on life with our friends, and checked out the tasty grilled brats that were available on Sunday evening.

It was a cinematic summer celebration at Colorado’s most iconic landmark (but make it a Drive-In). For 20 years, Film on the Rocks has brought together outstanding local bands and comedians, everyone’s favorite films, and enthusiastic audiences in the most affordable program hosted at Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre. This year they are turning the summer favorite into a Drive-In movie theater!

Doors open at 6:00 pm at Parking Lot 2 near the trading post, and the movie starts at 7:30 pm. All tickets to Film on the Rocks Drive-In are $59.50 per car and include movie snacks that will distributed to each vehicle upon entry. A bag of popcorn, theatre size box of plain M&M’s, Twizzlers, and a couple of Cokes were included per vehicle ticket.

Make a memory! Check the online schedule for the remaining 12 showings in September at and choose one to take your kids or your date to as a great way to keep safe with social distancing and masks in a retro environment that reminds us of the great times we use to have as kids doing this while growing up!
