Randy (Matson) Markin remembered

Randall Lee Markin, born Randy Lee Matson in Black Hawk, Colorado, February 27, 1957 to Joseph Carl Matson and Barbara June Kent. Randall was raised in Oregon where he married Debbie Lynn Shirley and they had two children, Nathan and Natalie Markin.

Randall was a dedicated fisherman and Harley-Davidson motorcycle rider. He spent last June riding his favorite green Harley in the mountains around Central City and Black Hawk and into the Dakotas and Yellowstone.

He served his country in the Army, and later was a truck driver with Teamsters local 162, and drove for the Fred Meyer Company.

He was living in Oregon City, Oregon when he suffered a heart attack and died on August 23, 2015 at the age of 58.

He was special and had a great laugh and always got the joke.

He is survived by his daughter Natalie Markin, son Nathan Markin of Portland, Oregon, brothers Kenny Markin of New Hampshire, Daniel Markin of Oregon City, Oregon, half-brother Jason Beck, Gilcrest, Colorado, half-sister Judy Berk, Greeley, Colorado, uncles Linold Begg, Central City, Colorado, Danny Begg, Wichita, Kansas and aunt’s Catherine Monahan (Pat) of Herndon, Kansas, Lori Lavine, Countryside, Illinois and many cousins and many friends.

Memorial services were held August 29, 2015 in Oregon City, Oregon.
