September 5, 1945 – March 28, 2018
Patricia Hall Daniel known to her friends as Patsy, born September 5, 1945 passing on March 28, 2018 at 72 years of age.
It is with great sadness we must share with you the recent loss of our beloved and dear friend, Mrs. Pasty Daniel. Patsy died March 28th after a difficult two-month illness.
Patsy was born in Treutlen County, Georgia, and was a 1963 graduate of Adrian High School. Patsy met the love of her life, Bill, in 1965 and they married in 1967. She had various jobs, but loved working in the public sector and after leaving employment with the City of Dublin, Georgia, she continued her lifelong career in the municipal government sector which led her to Golden, Colorado in 1997 where she became the Director of Finance at the City of Black Hawk. She loved her home on Douglas Mountain where she lived with her husband Bill and their beloved black labs: Sadie, Sam and most recently, Murray. Patsy was a true lover and advocate for all dogs with their home always available for the neighborhood dogs “kids” to stay for a play date or when their people were away. She was an integral part of the Douglas Mountain community where Patsy and Bill held an annual “Fish Fry” for the neighborhood and other friends. Patsy always made herself available with a big smile to any friend in need.
Patsy served with distinction as Golden Gate Fire Protection District’s (“GGFPD”) Treasurer since her elected in 2014 and re-elected in 2016. Patsy devoted enormous time and energy to improving the District’s financial management and never wavered in her efforts to provide the first responders with the tools and training needed to help protect the health and safety of the residents of her beloved mountain community.
Patsy’s husband, Bill, has asked us to share his deepest appreciation to all for the outpouring of love and support provided during Patsy’s recent illness. Her family held a memorial service for her in her home state of Georgia, and Bill will be letting us know of his plans for a memorial service here. She is survived by her husband Bill Daniel, eight sisters, one brother, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews who were all so fond of “Pat Pat.” She is preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Doretha Hall.
In recognition of Patsy’s passion for the mission of the GGFPD, in lieu of flowers or food, Bill is asking for memorial donations to be made to the GGFPD c/o Golden Gate Auxiliary of Colorado, Inc. (GGAC), PO Box 17623, Golden, CO 80402. The GGFPD is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization supporting our GGFPD volunteer firefighters in the district Patsy served. Donations will be allocated to a special fund and used in a way that honors Patsy’s commitment to the fire department and wildlife.
Patsy warmed our hearts with her smile, she was funny, extremely caring and truly one of a kind. Her strength and love will never be forgotten. She had a full and wonderful life with great loves, many who called her friend and many adventures…she is now onto the next. Hers was a life well lived and she will be terribly missed by all who knew her!
