August 6, 1935 – June 27, 2015

Patricia J. Clark (Ress) was born in Denver on August 6, 1935 to her parents Millie and Arthur Ress. Arthur’s parents settled in Russell Gulch, CO in the mid-1880’s where five sons were born and raised. Patty’s father moved to north Denver in the 1920’s where Patty attended Denver Public Schools and classes at Denver University. Patty had five children, and her brother still lives in Denver.

She worked as the Executive Director of the Hemophilia Foundation of Colorado, Wyoming, and New Mexico. She loved politics and campaigned two times for the Colorado House of Representatives from Arvada, and came close to winning both times.

Uncle Henry and his wife Laura lived in Russell Gulch for many years, where Laura was a school teacher and became the Superintendent of Schools for Gilpin County.

In 1972 Patty married Amos Clark, who is the grandson of George Morgan Laird, publisher of the Weekly Register-Call for sixty years. Patty and Amos were married for over 40 years and spent much of their time enjoying the Laird home. Patty passed away on June 27 at their home in Arvada after a long illness.
