Even bigger and better
by Dave Gibson
With their second season under their belts, Nederland Farmers Market is back for another go-around and is bigger and better than ever with twice as many dates as last year. Held at Guercio Field, 200 East St., Nederland, you may purchase fresh, healthy, locally grown foods and goods on the second and fourth Sunday every month between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Rhode Island Red eggs collected in town, Magnolia Rd. raised beef, heirloom tomatoes and radishes from Lyons, peppers picked in Fort Collins, potatoes grown in Alamosa, and spinach harvested at Munson Farms in Boulder are on hand. Pine Mountain Toffee out of Wondervu will satisfy your sweet tooth. Mountain Magnolia Farm offers a wide variety of preserves that include: Strawberry, cherry, watermelon, grapefruit, mango, and ginger pear. Quarts of goat milk are for sale, but if goat milk isn’t your cup of tea, goat soap (not to be confused with goat soup) is available.
