Lumonics Gallery Grand Opening

7 Healing Stars, a Black Hawk-based not-for-profit organization, and the Lumonics School of Light Art are opening a new Gallery at 460 Gregory Street in Black Hawk. Fundraising events through sales and donations will go toward support of the School and 7 Healing Stars and a scholarship program to be enacted. Being located on Gregory Street,which connects Black Hawk to Central City, the Gallery will now will be part of Black Hawk’s Gregory Street renovation project. The Lumonics Gallery is also a member of the Gilpin County Arts Association.

The grand opening is on Saturday, Sept. 14 from 7 until 10 p.m. There will be refreshments and a musical performance by The Banyans. There is plenty of free parking right across the street. Admission is free.

The Lumonics School of Light Art is now part of 7 Healing Stars, a collective of artists, holistic healers, professionals, organizations, spiritual and community leaders creating an ever evolving platform of self-discovery and empowerment at the individual and collective level, focusing on: Nutrition, Sustainability, Education & Research, Health & Wellness, Arts & Culture, Spirituality, and Community. The Lumonics School of Light Art touches on several of these aspects.
Following the Sept. 14 opening, the Lumonics Gallery’s hours will be 6 to 10 p.m. on Fridays and 7 to 10 p.m. on Saturdays, and other times by appointment.

The Lumonics School of Light Art still maintains its location in Denver. Founder and co-director, Dorothy Tanner, is the recipient of the 2018 Mayor’s Arts & Culture Innovation Award for the City and County of Denver, “presented to an individual or organization that is breaking new ground in the arts and whose contribution to innovation in the arts has been significant in 2018.” The School received Westword’s 2019 “Best of Denver ” award. Lumonics also received a grant from Meow Wolf in 2019.
