Leslie Green, of Gilpin County, died last week. Leslie was born in Lakeview, New York on June 2, 1955. She moved to Colorado in 1980, where she had two children and attended college. Leslie worked for the U.S. Postal Service for over 20 years.
Leslie is survived by her mother; Joan Nowland; her daughter, Leah Green of Boise, ID; her son Gabriel Green of Houston, TX; and three brothers, along with other extended family members.
Leslie lived in Gilpin County since 2006 and she was well known by many people for her work as a postal carrier; her work at Eagle’s Nest; her regular presence at the Gilpin County Recreation Center; and from the many social and community events which she attended.
Leslie’s passing is a great loss to her family, her friends, and the community and she was loved by many people. She was kind and gracious and always ready with a smile and a hug. Leslie also loved the outdoors and was an enthusiast of hiking, kayaking. and snowshoeing.
There will be a celebration of life in Leslie’s honor on Sunday, August 4, 2019. It will be held between noon and 5:00 p.m. at Bear Creek Lake Regional Park, 15600 W. Morrison Rd, Lakewood, CO 80228 at Coyote Crossing.
