Gilpin smashes Denver Waldorf 3-0

Match with Denver Waldorf

The Lady Eagles varsity team defeated Denver Waldorf away on September 20 in conference play. Set scores were 25/21, 25/18, and 25/11. The team has a 5-3 record for the season.

Andi Ramsey was first in kills for Gilpin with 12. Ashlen Cortez added 5, Stephanie Siegrist 4, Sarah Baisley 3, Kelsi Buhr 2, and Kim Wulf Balosch 1.

Cortez was the Lady Eagles’ leader in serving aces with 4. Ramsey and Balosch got two apiece, and Siegrist added one.

Buhr got the only solo block. The team had no block assists.

The number of digs was modest: Baisley had 8, Cortez 7, Siegrist and Balosch 6 each, and Ramsey 2.

For ball handling assists, Cortez had 9 and Ramsey and Balosch each contributed one.

Serving received success was shown by a trio of teammates – Baisley, Siegrist, and Balosch with three apiece.

Match with North Park

North Park won over the Lady Eagles 3-1 September 17 in a non-conference game at North Park. Set scores were 25/22, 23/25, 25/6, and 25/22.

Match with Denver Jewish Day

Gilpin was also disappointed in their battle 2-0 with Denver Jewish Day on September 16 in home non-conference play.
