At the historic Nicki Lee Mansion Bed & Breakfast
By Jaclyn Schrock
The ladies had 24 seats filled for this latest fun tea held at the Nicki Lee Mansion Bed & Breakfast in Central City, which has been restored to its original Victorian glory. We toured the mansion, opened with reading the 23rd Psalm with names of God realized in each verse.
At the previous ladies tea, the favorite name for God was Abba Father God, so we sang “Good Good Father” by Chris Tomlin before returning to our four small group tables. We had six servers from Gilpin High School, and two adult supervising the kitchen tea making and service.
We started out with a riveting tea duel using our cookie dunked in tea to determine whose cookie stood up the longest before crumbling. The winner began at each table to read the scripture set at their place setting.
After our servers provided tea and trips to the buffet tables, each lady read their scripture in turn. The old and new testament scriptures praised God as Father and being children of God. Many testimonies followed, applying these verses in ways we have realized God has been working in our own and others’ lives.
We took turns to share praises of God, and eventually tallied the most praised name of God. Some names and attributes came from the 23rd Psalm. Jehovah Jireh, the Lord my Provider won this time.
We hope to have our next tea at the Elks Lodge in Central City near the end of April. We would love to have you join us!
