Jerry L. Magno was born in Denver, Colorado and passed away on August 6, 2015. His parents moved to Colorado Springs, CO where he grew up in the Broadmoor Hotel area. At age 17 Jerry joined the Marine Corp, and he spent three tours in Vietnam between 1964-1968. After the Marine Corp he worked for Coors Brewing Company in Golden, CO before going back to school for a law enforcement career.
He was hired as a police officer with the City of Golden, and spent eight years with Golden Police Department, then was hired as the Marshal for Nucla, CO in SE Colorado for four years. He finally returned to Colorado Springs where he worked security for School District 11. He retired in the year 2000 to the mountains in the Black Hawk area, where he married Jeanie Baughman September 15, 2001.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Jeanie; stepson Richard Smith both of Black Hawk; son Steven of Florissant, CO; two sisters Eileen Sutterlund of Plano, TX and Julie Rice of Colorado Springs; and a brother David of Mesquite, TX. There will be a private service.
