Gilpin volleyball team triumphs over Nederland

Lady Eagles now 4-1

The Lady Eagles volleyball team won a victory over the Nederland Panthers 3-1 September 10 at Nederland. Set scores were 23/25, 25/17, 25/23, and 28/26.

Stephanie Siegrist was the leader in kills for the team with 8, followed by Andi Ramsey with 7, Sierra Planck and Kim Wulf Balosch with 4 each, Sarah Baisley with 2, and Ashlen Cortez with one, for a total of 26. The Panthers bested the Eagles slightly in kills, with 32.

Balosch led the Lady Eagles in serving aces with 4. Cortez joined with 3, Planck and Alyssa Chareunsouk with 2, and Siegrist with one. The Nederland team had 2 aces.

Ramsey helped her team with 2 solo blocks and one block assist. Nederland had 3 solo blocks and one block assist.

The Eagles’ playing was significant for digs, with 104 total, while Nederland had 45. Top players in digs were Chareunsouk with 30, Siegrist with 22, Balosch with 19, and Planck with 18.

Cortez came in with 25 ball handling assists for Gilpin. Nederland had 29 assists.

The numbers for serving received success were as follows: Planck 117, Chareunsouk 30, and Siegrist and Balosch 14 apiece, for 176 total. Nederland had 68 total.
