Gilpin Middle School boys go to the mat with five wins

The Gilpin Eagles middle school boys wrestling team participated in a tournament February 13 held at Sheridan High School. Four teams wrestled in the tournament: Sheridan, Gilpin, Clear Creek, and Bennet.

The seventh graders triumphed in four of their matches. Results for that group are as follows: Jack Ball, in the 75-pound weight class, enjoyed three wins and no losses. Josh Trujillo, wrestling in the 90-pound class, lost both of his matches. Justin Stundon, in the 140-pound class, won one of his three matches.

Eighth grader Dante Nadeau, wrestling in the 85-pound weight class, also won one of his matches, but lost two.

Coaches are Royce McLain, Craig Ball, Joe Stranaly, and John Stundon.

The next tournament is February 27 at Clear Creek.
