Edward “Ed” Anthony Perez passed away on September 28, 2013 in San Antonio, TX. He was 57 years old.
Ed was born and raised in San Antonio, TX. After high school, he joined the US Navy, completing several tours of duty all over the world. A few of his favorite stops were Madagascar, Africa, and Spain. He also served with the US Marine Corps as a Corpsman where he supported numerous Marine Regiments during the Vietnam War. In 1990 he retired after 20 years of Honorable service.
He lived and worked in Black Hawk, CO from 2005-2012.
Ed was a proud Veteran and enjoyed helping and working with other Veterans wherever he lived. He volunteered at many Veteran homes, cooking, serving and donating both his time and household essentials like clothes and food. Ed was a member at the Evergreen and Lakewood American Legions and volunteered many hours with each of these organizations.
While Ed lived in Colorado, he was a volunteer and advocate for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates). He was the voice for many children in court.
Ed’s life was one of sacrifice and service and he will be greatly missed by those that loved him most.
A memorial service was held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, TX. Memorial donations are suggested for CASA of Jefferson County or Heather Grove Veteran’s Home in Denver.
