March 14, 2018

On March 14, 2018, Edward Roy Lewandowski laid his single jack to rest on earth to search for the riches in heaven. He always looked forward to joining his wife Elaine, who pre-deceased him. Left behind, but not without the memories of both their parents, are EJ, Gary & Karen, their spouses, and his many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was known for his humor, generosity and Christian spirituality.

Publisher’s Note: Just south of Central City on the Parkway is the Hidee Mine, an abandoned mine workings from the 1890s that evokes the golden boom days from the fictional town of Hidee Village where Ed and his team provided tours to share their knowledge and life of mining. The Hidee Vein is just one of many mined areas that produced gold in what has been called the “Richest Square Mile on Earth.”
