Central City Man Hits Motorcycle
PRESS RELEASE – Highway 119 just south of Black Hawk was the scene of a fatal collision on Sunday, January 25. According to Colorado State Trooper Nate Reid, a 1977 Jeep J-10 pickup driven by 78-year-old Jerome Hulderman of Central City was heading southbound on 119 at 11:15 that morning when it crossed over into the northbound lanes and struck a motorcycle head-on.
The male driver of the motorcycle was Kim Marston, 58, of Arvada. His female passenger was Shiela Everskemper, 55, also of Arvada. Both died at the scene.
Hulderman was taken to St. Anthony Central Hospital with “moderate injuries.” His present condition is unknown.
Trooper Reid said the cause of the accident was unknown, but both the motorcycle driver and passenger were wearing helmets.
Highway 119 was closed following the crash, but reopened later that day.
