Middle School Results from Kiowa Invitational Tourney

The Gilpin County Middle School wrestlers put in a good showing at the Kiowa Invitational Wrestling Tournament March 5. As a team, they had 15 wins and only two losses.

Dante Nadeau, an eighth-grader in the 82-pound weight class, and Justin Stundon, a seventh-grader in the 140-pound class, both got silver medals. Undefeated and bringing home gold medals were seventh graders Jack Ball and Josh Trujillo. Ball wrestled in the 75-pound weight class, and Trujillo in the 90-pound class.

The boys will enter the state middle school tournament by competing in the Region #5 tournament on March 23 at Pomona High School in Arvada. The top eight wrestlers from each weight class will move on to the state finals the next weekend.

The regular season records are as follows:

Jack Ball, seventh grade: 11-9

Dante Nadeau, eighth grade: 12-4

Josh Trujillo, seventh grade: 9-7

Justin Stundon, seventh grade: 5-13
