The city of Black Hawk City Council met in the Council Chambers for their regularly scheduled meeting on Wednesday, January 28th, 2015. In attendance were Mayor David Spellman, Aldermen Linda Armbright, Paul Bennett, Jim Johnson, Hal Midcap, Benito Torres, Greg Moates, City Attorney Corey Hoffman and City Manager Jack Lewis.
The city council voted to approve a motion to adopt the most current International Building Code as it applies to elevators, and conveyances as well as the maintenance and repair of such conveyances. This approved motion allows to the city to enforce a building code that is more in line with what the state of Colorado has adopted.
Historic Preservation Construction
Temporary construction easements were approved in order to help facilitate the rehabilitation of properties throughout the city. The properties affected are 401 Chase Street, and 301 High Street. These easements would allow the construction contractor or city officials to gain access to the properties for the purposes of completing the Historic Preservation rehabilitations.
The next regularly scheduled meeting for the Black Hawk City Council is Wednesday, February 11th at 3:00 PM in the council chambers located upstairs at 211 Church Street, Black Hawk.
